Checklist used car purchase: detailed information
#1
Not a pro? Then take a friend with you to buy a used car. Preferably someone who knows their way around better than you do. Four eyes see more than two. Go through this checklist together so that the car purchase succeeds. Check the body for signs of accidents, rust, or damage to the paint. Has something been repainted? What about tires and rims? Frequent curb contact causes scratches in the rims - then damage to the chassis rubbers and steering is possible. Are the filling levels of the brake and coolant reservoirs correct? Auto for Trade says that make sure to check engine oil and engine. If it is not all oil when you remove the dipstick, water in the oil could be the reason. What do you say about this?
