Competing against the F-Series and THE Toyota Tundra, the Silverado is among the best-selling vehicles in the United States, having sold over 12 million examples since its introduction. The NHTSA gives the Silverado a four-star overall safety rating regardless of cab version, with four stars for front impact and rollover resistance testing and five stars for side impact tests. The Silverado 1500 is a bit smaller than the Silverado 2500 and has a slightly smaller wheelbase.
