The Jeep Compass, and Jeep Patriot, a rebadged variant, are small crossover SUVs made and sold by Jeep that sits below the Jeep Wrangler as the entry level sport utility vehicle for the brand. Compass is one of the first Jeep crossover SUVs. Compass was a car based design built for the majority of small SUV buyers who wanted a fuel efficient runabout that was easy to drive.
